 note = {The main purpose of this paper is to clarify the housing consciousness of builders in Gifu prefecture. We made a survey of builders in March 1997. According to the survey, seventy-six percent of builders were taking into account the region when planning houses. And most of them (93.4%) hope to continue building Japanese wooden houses in their regions. In particular, local builders prefer using Japanese roofing tiles (65.0%), using timber from Gifu (65.1%) and planning houses with connected tatami rooms (42.1%).},
