 note = {We are concerned with the realization of the articulation of secondary schools and Technical Middle Schools (Fachschulen) in Germany. The main points are the following : A privilege unique to the Prussian secondary schools was the right of puoils who had reached a certain point in their education to serve as "one-year volunteer exemotion" in the army instead of as regular two or three-year conscripts (Berechtigung zum einjahrig-freiwilligen Militardienst). Also, Technical Middle Schools were differentiated into Higher Machine Building Schools and Lower Machine Building Schools by the right (qualification). Judging from the above, the right was an important factor in realization of the articulation of secondary schools and Technical Schools.},
