 note = {A neutral polysaccharide fraction (K-2-F) was isolated by gel filtration with Sepharose CL-4B from the 70% aqueous ethanol extract of the fruiting body of Phellinus robustus Karst. K-2-F was composed of a large amount of 3-O-methylgalactose (ca. 41%) as a novel component sugar, in addition to fucose, galactose, glucose and mannose. The existence of 3-O-methylgalactose was confirmed by gas-liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry as its deuterated (C-1) partially methylated galactitol acetate derivative.},
