George III sent for William Pitt to form a new Administration. The King had come to believe that Pitt's leadership could give hi a secure government. Pitt took the Privy Seal and was created Earl of Chatham. It was his Plan to form an Administration which should transcend and obliterate party divisions, and to direct it by remote control from the House of Lords. On 30 July 1766,the Rockingham Ministry lefr office, and the Chatham Ministry was formed. After the dismissal of the Rockinghm Ministry, Burke could afford to seek for an appointment in the next ministry. But he decided to remain in the Rockingham Party and contributed to the Party.
