The analysis will be made through the study of expansive banking activities by the Dwight family, a member of the Boston Associates, in Michigan and Ohio. The discussion will be focused upon such questions as how they fought against the Bank War launched by President Jackson and what kind of role they played in the West during the economic boom of the early 1830's and after the depression of 1837. As an approach to the analysis of the family's basic attitude and its merits and demerits, the process through which the family succeeded to obtain the status of Federal Depository will be discussed mostly in this Part I of the series.}, pages = {67--77}, title = {「初期西部銀行業におけるドゥワイト一族」(I)}, volume = {7}, year = {1980}, yomi = {エガワ, リョウイチ} }
